Business Fours Host Covid-secure Golf Day in North West
Business Fours North West Event
England’s national golf tournament teed off on Tuesday 6th October with companies from the North West enjoying some socially distant golf on the Portal Championship Course for Business Fours North West event.
The event was supported by Caddyboo and all players were in with a chance to win £2,500 for their chosen charity if they were lucky enough to hit a hole in one at one on the 5th.
With a series of covid secure events procedures and guidelines in place, including hand sanitiser for each player thanks to sponsors Inoapps, teams embraced the virtual welcome address and presentation as part of their safety first hybrid event experience.
Each company selected their own charity to play for with the Business Fours prize up for grabs at the National final at the end of this month, a prize pot that is currently £1,941. Five companies from the North West event booked their place at that national final and it was Accountable Recruitment who came out on top in Cheshire under the captaincy of Paul Roberts.
Accountable Recruitment beat teams from Hasman, InXpress, Clancy Consulting and Open Money who all successfully qualified for the National Final.
In the individual awards Nearest The Pin bragging rights went to Des McEvoy from Clancy Consulting at hole 14 and James Jaycock from Accountable Recruitment at hole 16. Jack Friend from Hasman picked up the prize for hitting the Longest Drive at the 3rd.
Unfortunately no one managed to hit an Ace on the 5th hole but with £10,000 for a Hole in One up for grabs at the final they still have a chance of taking home a sizeable prize for their charity.
The North West qualifying teams will compete against qualifiers from the North East, Midlands and Yorkshire events at the finals day on the Breadsall Priory Course on Wednesday 28th October. Details of the events coming up can be found on their website here.
