Business Fours Host Covid-secure Golf Event at Linden Hall
Business Fours North East Event
England’s national golf tournament continued on Thursday 8th October with companies from the area enjoying some socially distant golf on MacDonald Linden Hall Championship Course for Business Fours North East event.
The event was supported by Waterstons and Caddyboo and all the players were in with a chance to win £2,500 for their chosen charity if they were lucky enough to hit a hole in one at one on the par 3 17th.
With a series of covid secure events procedures and guidelines in place, including hand sanitiser for each player thanks to sponsors Inoapps, teams embraced the virtual welcome address and presentation as part of their safety first hybrid event experience.
Each company selected their own charity to play for with the Business Fours prize up for grabs at the National final at the end of this month, a prize pot that is currently £1,941. Five companies from the North East event booked their place at that national final and it was TT Electronics who came out on top in Northumberland under the captaincy of Nathan Ryder.
TT Electronics beat teams from Brewin Dolphin, Temporary Work Solutions and both teams from Westrock who all successfully qualified for the National Final.
With an almost clean sweep in the individual awards both the Nearest The Pin bragging rights and Longest Drive went to Joe Atkinson from TT Electronics for his efforts at hole 7, 15 and 9. The Longest Putt was sunk by Dan Fitzsimmons from Quantum Controls on the 18th Green.
Unfortunately, no one managed to hit an Ace on the 17th but with £10,000 for a Hole in One up for grabs at the final they still have a chance of taking home a sizeable prize for their charity.
The North East qualifying teams will compete against the qualifying teams of the North West, Midlands and Yorkshire events at the finals day on the Breadsall Priory Course on Wednesday 28th of October. Details of the events coming up can be found on their website here.
