Business Fours National Corporate Golf Final – England
TBL On Fire at Business Fours England Final
Business Fours National Corporate Golf Final rounded off on Wednesday 28th October with 15 companies from across the country social distancing on the Breadsall Priory Course fairways.
The event was supported by sponsors, Clancy Consulting and Caddyboo with £10,000 up for grabs for anyone who hit a Hole-in-One on one of the par 3 holes. Each company selected its own charity cause to play for close to the heart with the Business Fours prize pot of £2,880 up for grabs.
It was TBL Fire Protection captained by Shane Brassington who came out on top with 142 stableford points winning a £2,045 donation for Burn Camps. WestRock Company from the North East agonisingly found themselves just one stableford point behind to finish as runners up and secure an £835 donation which they chose to split between Maggies and The British Heart Foundation.
William Ham, Fundraising Manager at the British Heart Foundation said “The British Heart Foundation is thrilled to have been nominated as a charity by WestRock in the England National Finals. Sadly, while the world has been on lockdown, heart and circulatory diseases have continued to tear families apart and snatch away people’s quality of life. But with the public’s continued support we can, and will, lessen the suffering they cause. The BHF is very grateful to WestRock for the donation to fund life-saving research that will help us Beat Heartbreak Forever.”
Jerri Thompson, Business Development Manager at TBL said “We had a great couple of days of golf with both teams thoroughly enjoying themselves. The fact we actually managed to win and raise some money for a fantastic Charity, topped off an already fantastic and well-organised event!”
Dave Webster, Founder at Burn Camps said “It is only through the generosity of people and companies such as TBL Fire Protection that we are able to organise and run residential camps and day trips for the many young burns survivors we support nationally. Helping them to come to terms with their new altered body image by raising their self-esteem snd confidence. Thank you to all of those involved.”
For the individual awards at Business Fours National Corporate Golf Final, the ‘Nearest The Pin’ bragging rights went to Dan Stanley from TBL Fire Protection at hole 14 and Steven Fowler from SmartSearch, playing in support of Target Ovarian Cancer, at hole 17. Matt Smith from TBL Fire Protection bagged the ‘Longest Drive’ award at hole 11 and Luke Newton from WestRock won bragging rights for ‘Longest Putt’ at hole 18.
Founder of Business Fours, John McClarey, was delighted with how the events went and said: “This seasons golf events have looked a lot different amidst the ongoing pandemic and we are proud that the golf course has once again proven a safe environment for golfers to demonstrate their commitment to charity. We’ve put a lot of work into creating covid-secure procedures and guidelines and would like to thank the players for their adherence to those as well as the venues we’ve worked with for prioritising safety.
Having worked closely with Maggies and the British Heart Foundation in the past we are thrilled that our donation will be going to them and would like to pass on our congratulations to Shane and the team at TBL Fire Protection for being crowned national champions and winning the donation to support the wonderful work of Dave and the team from Burn Camps”
