Picow Crowned Champions at Business Fours North West qualifier
Wilmslow golf club provided a stunning venue for the Business Fours North West qualifier as the action ramps up ahead of the England National Final in one months time.
Teams from across the North West assembled on the 6,000 yard plus parkland course that provided a tough test along with some stunning views in aid of some fantastic charity causes.
Supported by Royal & Awesome and Caddyboo the event had £2,500 up for grabs for the chosen charities for any golfer lucky enough to hit a hole in one on the par 3 6th, with Des McAvoy and Craig Yates from Clancy Consulting both going very close and the latter putting his effort on the 14th just 40cm from the hole for the nearest the pin award there.
Paul McNestry from Picow hit it closest on the signature par 3 9th hole pipping team mate Mark Beach by inches. That shot provided the catalyst the Picow team needed and they went on to win the event by 3 shots and will go on to represent Cancer Research UK at the national final.
Agent Marketing finished as runners up helped by some fine individual scoring by Kenny McNaughton who creamed one 300 yards plus down the 13th to win the longest drive bragging rights.
Also in the qualification spots was SysGroup who’s team captain Nathan Flemming holed the longest putt of the day on the 18th green to pick up the award on offer there.
Team mate Nick Guite had the highest individual stableford score of the day as the team will go on to represent the Royal British Region at the national final.
Clancy Consulting also sealed their place at the national final where over £2,000 will be up for grabs for their chosen charity Sarcoma UK.
